Homework quality standards for “Reading Rising Cairn” post

“Acceptable” – 325 pts – your post must be published before 8 am on Monday, Jan. 22, answer all five questions in the prompt, include quoted or paraphrased material from at least three different literacy narratives, show signs that you spent about 60 single-tasking minutes composing, revising, and editing it, use signal phrases (see They Say/I Say pp. 38-40)  to indicate when you’re referring to or quoting or paraphrasing from specific literacy narrative, use the names of literacy narrative authors and the titles of their narratives, and be at least 350 words long.

“Proficient” – 750 pts – your post must meet all “acceptable” standards and show notable signs of attentiveness in its descriptions of the literacy experiences captured in these narratives by going beyond the gist to discuss significant details of one or more literacy narratives.

“Excellent” – 1,000 pts –  your post must meet all “proficient” standards and show signs of emerging curiosity and insight about the literacy experiences captured in these narratives.

“Proficient” and “Excellent” blog posts will surely exceed 350 words and may take more than 60 minutes to compose, revise, and edit.
