When are office hours?

I hold office hours every week in the Student Academic Success Center on Mondays from 1-1:45 and Wednesdays, right after class, from 11-12. You can also make an appointment with me.

What are office hours for?

Office hours are a chance for students to meet one-on-one with their professors without having to make an appointment.

Professors schedule office hours because they believe that mentoring and tutoring individual students is an important part of their job.

Students come to office hours for many reasons. Some come for help on a particularly challenging reading or assignment. Others come to learn more about the professor’s field, discipline, or research. Others come for advising. Still others come to talk about ideas. Not surprisingly, the students use office hours frequently are among the best students.

Please know that you are welcome at office hours. You’re not bothering the prof. (unless you make an appointment and don’t keep it!).  So make it a point to visit all of your professors in office hours throughout the term. When it comes time to review your grades or request a letter of recommendation, you’ll be glad you did.
