- Read and annotate “So What? Who Cares?: Saying Why It Matters” in They Say/I Say. Post photos of 3 pages of your annotations on your ePortfolio.
- Go through Kahneman’s article and make a list of the cognitive fallacies, biases, and thought-tendencies that make people over-confident about their judgments. There are 7. Then, define each entry on your list and give an example (from your own experience, the experience of others, or from Kahneman) of it. Post your list on a new post on your ePortfolio.
- Kahneman is really good at “saying why it matters.” Find two locations in his essay where he explains why some story he’s telling or example he’s giving matters for our study of why people make bad judgments, decisions, or predictions. Then write a few paragraphs to explain the various strategies or techniques Kahneman uses to “say why it matters.” Which of those strategies could you use in your own writing? Post your paragraphs.
